2015 BRITISH QX CHAMPIONSHIP DATES SET

November 18 2014.

The 2015 ACU British QX Championship will start on three former Grand Prix MX  tracks - Hawkstone Park, Desertmartin and Foxhill
. The six round series, which runs from February to October, will then visit Stratford and Dean Moor before it's now traditional climax at Canada Heights.

Following the success of last year's series the format of three 20 minute plus two lap races will remain, with the points from all rounds counting.

In a major coup for the series the opening round on February the 8th will be part of the programme at the Hawkstone International Moto Cross, one of the UK's biggest off road events. The date has recently been switched to February the 8th (from the 22nd) by the organiser to avoid clashes with other pre-season internationals and the opening MX GP of the year at Qatar on February the 28th. It is known that a number of world class MX1 and MX2 teams are now close to agreeing to ride at Hawkstone.

The championship also returns to Ireland after an absence of several years to reflect the strong Irish presence in the series. Four Irish riders finished in the top ten of this year's championship, Ireland won the inaugural Nations Cup and Mark McLernon won the Under 21 Championship.

A spokesman for the series said: "We are delighted with the tracks we have secured this year for the ACU British QX Championship. The quality of the racing and the professionalism of the riders and teams now deserve to be showcased on Britain's best tracks."

The dates are (provisional) Hawkstone - Feb 8; Desertmartin - May 2; Foxhill - May 24; Stratford - June 7; Dean Moor -July 19; Canada Heights - October 4.
