BRITS SWARM ACROSS THE CHANNEL IN SEARCH OF GLORY

Fourteen of the 93 teams entered for this month’s Pont de Vaux 12hour race will have a British interest. Only host nation France boasts more teams entered in the event, which begins with timed training this Friday, the 21st of August, before racing begins in earnest on Saturday.


The teams flying the flag this year are:

· Team WBH: Mark Wilson, Leon Beda, Mark Hadden (Hon).

· Team Rocketman: Laurence Stopps, Harry Walker, Bailey Edwards (Suz)

· Team K-ATV: Chris Keitch, Jack Price-Draper, Sam Jeffrey (Suz)

· Team NORA: Chris Murphy, Aaron Pole, Kieran Power (Yam)

· Team SJS Services: Sheldon Seal, David Cowan, Mike van Grinsven (Yam)

· Team Four Tech: John Crawford, Barry Main, David Vass (Hon)

· Team Four Tech: Roland Hopkins, Darren Jukes, Kieran Heath (Hon)

· Team GoldspeedGirls: Emma McQuaid, Sina Willman, Amandine Dorey (Yam)

· Team AllScots: John Mitchell, Murray Graham, Lawrence Whyte (Yam)

· Team Das: Paul Davie, Shaun Stewart, Gary Atkinson (Hon)


Only six British riders have ever been on winning teams since the event began in 1987 – Paul Holmes (2010-11) Paul Winrow (1992, 2000-1), John Mitchell (2004-5), Richard Cole (1999) and Kevin Philips (1992) and Phil Bourne (1992).
