2017 Nora-MX Quad Championship, Round 5, Mildenhall, Suffolk. Sunday 11th June 2017.

George Day overcame a pre-round 18-point deficit to Mark McLernon to storm through to lead the Nora-MX Pro Championship at a sun-drenched Mildenhall in Suffolk.

An impressive 118 riders across all groups, together with their support crews, travelled across the UK for Nora’s first-ever visit to Mildenhall and its first-class facilities. The fifth round proved to be an incident-free, tightl- run event by Nora’s (as ever) slick staff.

Prior to the racing itself, Day’s younger brother Tom actually set the fastest lap in qualifying, with a speedy time of 1m:41.8 s; brother George was second fastest.

In race one, George grabbed the holeshot and he soon built up a comfortable lead to cruise to victory. The battle for second place saw Paul Winrow, in a rare appearance, behind Dafydd Davies for much of the race, before showing the youngster his rear wheels in the latter stages of the moto.
