KNOWLES GETS BACK WITH NETT

September 11th, 2019.

Ayrton Knowles made his return to quad racing at the final two rounds of the NETT Quad Championship, Duns MX Park last weekend and didn’t hold back. Prior to the two-day event, the Lancashire lad was heard to say that he was going to ‘ease back in gently’. However, come the day and the start line and taking it easy clearly wasn’t going to happen …

Knowles grabbed the holeshot in the first championship race on Saturday and, although fading slightly, he still finished a strong third. He had another strong start in the second race, before a turn three high side put him to the very back of the pack. He remounted and put in a determined ride to get back up to sixth on what was a difficult hard pack track that had been freshly watered . Race three saw another holeshot and a third place finish behind the hard-charging Murray Graham and Harry Walker.

Clearly on a high, Knowles couldn’t resist getting back out on Sunday and continued with fast starts and solid finishes with two thirds and a hard-fought fourth behind young gun Alfie Walker.
