MAESSEN A WILDCARD FOR HAWKSTONE

January 19 2015.

Dutch star Joe Maessen will compete as a wildcard at the opening round of the British championship next month when he will also give the all-new CRQF its British debut. The CRF450 Honda-based machine was designed and built by Gerben Vruggink, whose background is in building buggies and quads for desert rallies, such as the Dakar.

Maessen rode the CRQF to victory in its maiden race at final round of the Dutch championship at the end of last year and also rode the machine in the Quad Cross of European Nations.

He will start as one of the favourites at Hawkstone on February the 8th as he is a sand specialist and also finished second the last time the championship went to the Shropshire track in 2008.

The opening round of the Willcock Holeformers sponsored British Championship is part of the star-studded Hawkstone International.
