There’s always been a fine tradition of female racers in quad racing, but this season the girls are really out in force at NORA-MX.At Pontrilas last Sunday, over 10% of the entire entry was taken up by female riders of all ages, which is typical of all the club’s meetings this year.
What’s also great to see is the girls are competing across every class, with the youth classes seeing a particularly strong entry.
If there is an off-road club of any kind in the UK that can boast a bigger proportion of female racers we would like to know!
Pictured here are most, but not all, of the NORA girls who competed at Pontrilas. From the left:

KeichNORA has another two or three regular girls who include Shellie Smart and
Ameelie Miller, who is the only girl in the competitive Clubman Elite Class and secured
a 3rd Place at Round 2 this year.
Eight girls out of the 18 riders in the novice class at the last meeting are now being recognized for their efforts with pink trophies for 1st through to 3rd.
No one should be shy to go and give NORA a try.
