NO TO YOUTH QUADS AT WESTON

February 3rd, 2018.

RHL Activities, the promoter behind the HydroGarden Weston Beach Race has announced it will not reinstate the Youth Quad class at this year’s event over the weekend of 19th to 21st October.

The RHL team was hoping that, with its promotion of the class over recent months, it would be able to obtain 30 pledges by the end of January to ensure the running of the youth quad category. However, only half the pledges had been received by the set deadline, and so the company was left with little choice but to withdraw the class.

Gareth Hockey, Director of RHL Activities, commented, “Following a strong campaign to see the Youth Quad class reintroduced into the 2018 HydroGarden Weston Beach Race we didn’t receive the level of support required, so unfortunately the class will not run this year. It’s a great shame as we at RHL Activities are passionate about the development of young talent and youth racing as a whole, but unfortunately on this occasion it is not possible to run with the amount of potential entries. We hope in the future to see the young-guns of the quad world battling it out on the beach and will continue an open dialogue with these riders.”
