WALKER'S CRISP

Teenager Harry Walker notched up his third successive podium finish in the European Championship, at Cieszyn in Poland on Sunday, to move within touching distance of second place in the series.


Zip Yamaha mounted Walker produced his best form in the championship to date, with a season-best second place in the opening 30-minute moto, followed by a third in the second outing.

His 42-point haul left him tied on points with the local favourite, Roman Gwiazda, but the Pole secured second place overall thanks to his better result in the second race.

Overall victory went to reigning champion, Kevin Saar from Estonia, who won both motos and moved to the top of the points table for the first time this year.

Race one: 1 Saar, 2 Walker, 3 Gwiazda, 4 Tveraen, 5 Vanderdijck, 6 Zdenek Polacek, Czech Republic (Husqvarna).

Race two: 1 Saar, 2 Gwiazda, 3 Walker, 4 Tveraen, 5 Phoelich, 6 Vandendijck.

Championship points (after four rounds): Saar 153, Tveraen 145, Walker 131, Phoelich 115, Gwiazda 103, Vanderdijck 95.

Next round: Kivioli, Estonia, June 17th.
