PDV WRAP UP

September 3rd, 2019.

We managed to miss out a few teams and riders in our Pont de Vaux report last week – for which we apologise. However, with no press releases or results being provided by the organisers, it was something of an uphill battle to get info.

The team of Justin Reid, Dafydd Davies and Lorne Sinclair secured an impressive eighth place overall. It might have been higher had they not incurred a controversial two-minute penalty in the final session. There seemed to be an identity crisis with this team in terms of the flag used to determine its nationality (maybe that's how we overlooked them …). Commented Reid; “It went from the Republic of Ireland flag to the Scottish Saltire to even the flag of the Netherlands at one point.”

Twenty-four-year-old Gary Atkinson was another top Brit. The solo-riding Scot finished sixth in the Kenny Contest Ironman category and eighth overall across all classes.

Staying with the Scots, and young Connor Yates took 20th place overall in the PDV Kids sector and a well-deserved third in the Minimes class.

Finally, the team of James Bevan, Luke Davies and Alex Bethell had a challenging PDV. Qualifying in 16th, the guys struggled with crashes, injuries and the heat to take a creditable final position of 13th. They’d like to thank to Sheldon seal for building their machine, as well as Andrew Willcock and Will Davies (Neil R Davies LTD) for making the trip possible.
