QRS GOES SOLO

February 17 2015.

Quad Racing Scotland will be running a championship for solo bikes this season. It is some ten years since Quad Racing Scotland was founded and back then it ran alongside the MX events of that era. A decade later history repeats itself, in a way, as the club invites solos and quads to run together once again.

The single class championship for adult solo riders will have five rounds across four weekends with awards being presented for 1st to 3rd placed riders on each three-race meeting and the Solo Champion and two runners up receiving trophies at the end of season awards presentation.

All entrants need to be a member of QRS and hold a current MCF, IOPD or SACU licence.

The 2015 QRS Solo calendar is:

Round 1 - 15 March - Tain
Round 2 – 5 April – Humbie, a new track in East Lothian
Round 3 - 2 August – Pennan
Round 4 – 12 Sept – Fife Moto Park, formerly known as Cardenden
Round 5 – 13 Sept – Fife Moto Park

Four rounds from the above five count towards the overall solo championship and the lowest score over the season is dropped.

Membership of QRS is £40 and riders can register online HERE.

Entries are open now for Round 1 at Tain, where the entry fee is £50.  Entries too can be made online and by post.

The regular adult and youth quad racing classes will also be running and energetic riders who want to enter more than one class – i.e. a quad and a solo – are entitled to a £15 discount on their second entry fee.

Tain will also be open as usual to all riders, solo and quad, for practice on Saturday 14 March, the day before the QRS round and the track will be re-graded before the official race practice on the Sunday.
