QUAD RACING SCOTLAND TRIBUTE TO CONNOR

August 26 2014.

Little did they know when they gathered at Cardenden, in Fife, on the 29th of September 2013, that it would be the last time that members of Quad Racing Scotland, as a club, would together race against, laugh with and follow with pride the spectacular quad riding talent of Connor Smith on home soil.

Connor had already clinched the 2013 Scottish Championship title as racing began that Sunday morning nearly a year ago, though that made no difference; he was on top form as usual, taking maximum points on that final round too.

But fate was such that he never got to celebrate becoming Scottish Champion for the second successive year and the Scottish quading community, who witnessed his talent emerge from the earliest of days, were left only to grieve.

And so it is fitting that this quad racing fraternity should gather again, exactly one year on, to host the final round of the QRS Championship 2014 in Connor’s memory and in celebration of his many successes, at home and far beyond.

The event will take place on Sunday the 28th of September at Duns, acknowledged by Connor’s family to be his favourite track.

Riders from all clubs and championships are very welcome to enter and take part in this particularly Scottish tribute to Connor.

There will be no extra fee for non-members at this round, but there will be lots of good Scottish hospitality and live music on the Saturday night and some special moments and memories presented on the Sunday.

Entries are best made online at www.quadracingscotland.org.uk/race-registration-2014-round8.php where members and non-members alike can register.  Entry fees are accepted on the day, but entries must be registered with the club by the 24th of September.
