British QX championship competitor Oli Sansom has had quite a bit to cope with recently; he set up as a franchised Yamaha dealership, has been designing and developing a new practice track and his quad racing prowess hit an all-time high when he recently won the final British Championship moto at Mildenhall.

Sansom also had some great battles at the last round of the British QX at Cusses Gorse and had this to say; “Not the start of the day we hoped for after casing the big triple uphill jump in qualifying. That knocked my confidence as, not getting a good qualifying position meant a bad gate pick.

“However, around the middle part of the second moto, something clicked, and I had the confidence to tackle the big jumps which made a huge difference to my racing and, in the third moto, I felt I had my mojo back. I pulled second off the start and was leading the race for a while and enjoyed a great battle with Justin Reid all the way to the chequered flag.

“It is clear to me and my team that my forte is racing on sand, but I am improving on the hard pack this year. I’d never have thought that I’d be a leading contender in the British championship, let alone win a race, but I’ve proved to myself and everyone around me that I can do it. My dream is to become British Champion one day, and I will do my utmost to make it happen.
