March 24th, 2018.
Former British Beach Race Champ Oli Sansom has been hit by a virus which has forced out of the first round of the 2018 European QX Championship in Holland this weekend.
He was to be part of a three-strong British crew that included Harry Walker and Liam Garbett, but instead will focus on getting back to full health in time to tackle the British and Nora-MX Quad Championships.
Said Oli;
"After travelling all the way here to Oss in Holland, it is with much regret I have had to make a very tough decision in which I will not be riding this weekend for round 1 of the European quad championship.
With a very bad virus that set in on Thursday that really has got worse and knocked me into the ground, I have tried everything I can but feel weak as a kitten.
Anyone who knows my passion for the sport knows I'd be out there if I could. I am very sorry to have let down all my sponsors friends family and supporters.
But I need to focus on my long term health and British Championship in which I need to be on my game, starting with the Nora Pro Class Championship next Saturday in which I aim to perform in, and do my very best, and better my 3rd overall result from last year.
All the very best of luck to my ATVs R Us Yamaha UK team-mate Harry Walker in the race this weekend.
Stay safe and enjoy!"
