SANSOM’S EAST COAST ADVENTURE

November 12th, 2019.

Fresh off the back of his Barmouth Beach Race win, and Weston Q1 podium, an ever-enthusiastic and hard-charging Oli Sansom headed east for two solid days of racing.

First up was the AMCA sand race over at the north sea coastal resort of Skegness in Lincolnshire. The next day he travelled a few hours north to the south east coast of Scotland and the opening round of the Rock Oil Michelin Ecosse Winter MX Series at Dunbar.

The amiable West Midlander finished fourth at Skegness, which wasn’t the result he hoped for, but a pitstop immediately prior to the race being shortened put him a lap back. His trip north was far more rewarding though, as his fitness and strength came to the fore when the going got tough and helped him to storm through to three race wins.

“I felt really fit and strong towards the end at Dunbar," said a delighted Sansom. "That was important as the conditions got rougher in the deep sand. The Ecosse event was really well run and I’m now leading the championship!

"It was also good to mix it up with my great friend and QXoN team-mate Murray Graham.

"Big thanks to my mechanic Dave, all my sponsors and girlfriend Becky for putting up with me!”
