TOP TRIO GET NATIONS CALL-UP

September 9 2014.

Current British champion leader Paul Winrow, plus Carl Bunce and Stefan Murphy will be the team that represents Great Britain at next month's Quad Cross of European Nations in Holland.

The ACU confirmed the team following Sunday's fifth Cromwell Trucks British Championship round at Culham, which Murphy won from Winrow. The trio are also now the top three English riders in the championship standings.

This year's event will be held at the Dutch sand track of Markelo on October the 12th, where the Sidecarcross des Nations will also be held on the same day.

British Championship organiser Chris Murphy has been appointed as team manager and now has the job of pulling together the logistics with just four weeks to the event.

Murphy said: "When picking the team we asked the opinion of several people and clubs in the quad community. We were looking for a combination of current form and fitness, ability in deep sand and a group that would be harmonious and all work well together to try and win for Great Britain. I think this group of lads, along with Sheldon Seal as our reserve rider, tick the right boxes."

The team get some budget from the ACU but they are looking for any financial or trade support they can to give them the best possible chance of victory. If you can help, call Chris on 07860 668434.

ACU Moto Cross Committee member Steve McCauley will be the British FIM delegate at the event. The very handy Irish team of Mark McLernon, David Cowan and Dean Colhoun with Justin Reid as reserve, was confirmed last month.
