ULSTER DESERT DESTINATION

March 8th, 2018.

The opening round of the 2018 Ulster Quad Championship takes place at the famous MX track of Desertmartin this Saturday, March the 10th.

The 2017 Ulster Champion Michael McAneney has a lot to do this year, after helping Team Ireland secure a historic third place at the Quadcross of Nations in Italy last year. With father Gerry always in the background, this team will be the one to beat for the top place on the podiums in 2018.

Justin Reid, the long-time favourite from Co Down once again will be on the CanAm and his eye on the Ulster title once again. The British quad title is also within Justin's aim, and that title race starts on April the 21st back at the Desertmartin track.

Sean Goss, from Newry in Co Down, has already held the Ulster title, and firmly believes that he can do it again. And Leon Rodgers, pictured here with his new Factory WSP KTM quad from Holland will also be another one to watch. Leon has ridden for several years now and competed at the highest level in the UK, Europe and even across the pond in the USA.

2016 British Quad Champion Mark McLernon will, of course, be right there in the mix of things. Mark is now based in England, but will still be going home to fight for the Ulster title. He certainly has the fitness and race pace to be on the top steps every time. The British title will also be one he wants to get hold of again, having lost to Paul Holmes so narrowly at the final round at Canada Heights last year.
