WALKER WINS WESTON

October 20th, 2018

Harry ‘Hazza’ Walker continued to show his fine form by storming today’s Quad class at the Weston Beach Race to take the win ahead of Carl Bunce and Stefan Murphy.

The trio were the only riders to complete 20 laps of the arduous sand race. Walker won with a margin of just over three minutes ahead of Bunce, and almost four-and-a-half minutes ahead of ‘boss’ Murphy. Rhydian Owen put in 19 laps to finish fourth, with fifth and sixth-placed riders Matty Morris and Dean Dillon both on 18-laps.

Sixth off the start line, Walker quickly moved into third and then second, behind Murphy by lap four, a position he held until moving into the lead on the ninth lap. He held the lead for five laps ahead of Murphy before being pushed to second, albeit briefly. The tenacious 19-year-old put in an incredible lap time of 8:46.514 – the fastest of the race - on lap 15 and stayed out front all the way to the chequered flag. Bunce moved into second on lap 15, demoting Murphy to third and the positions remained the same for the final five laps.

Provisional results;
1. Harry Walker, 20 laps
2. Carl Bunce, 20 laps
3. Stefan Murphy, 20 laps
4. Rhydian Owen, 19 laps
