Following his convincing win at the FIM EMX Quad Championship in Poland last weekend, Reigning British QX and EMX Quad champ, Harry Walker, will be focussing on increasing his British Series lead and maintaining his 100% score sheet at FatCat Motoparc this Sunday.

QBRUS Yamaha-mounted Walker has won all nine British QX Championship races to lead with 225 points, ahead of Jamie Morgan on 151 who, while on equal points with fellow Welshman Dafydd Davies, nipped into second place after Culham thanks to three second place finishes.

Sadly, Ayrton Knowles, will be missing from this weekend’s British Championship as he suffered an accident at the Polish EMX and broke his fibula in two places. “Just like that my season is over. Apologies to all my sponsors and supporters who got behind me for this European contest. This is not how I wanted things to go. But as always a big thank you to those who are behind me and do support me.”

Ahead of the upcoming British round, Walker reflected on the EMX at Gdansk; “It was hot! I’m satisfied with the weekend but need to work on a few areas where I could still improve. Overall I’m happy as I went into the round wanting to come away with the red place, which is what I did. The points are really close between me and Patrick Turrini, just two points in it, which isn’t a lot at all when we only have two rounds left in Latvia and France. I got a good start in the first race and pretty much led it from start to finish. Going into the last, joint on points in the championship with Turrini, I knew it was pretty vital to get a good result. I had a really good jump out of the gate but, had a nightmare as I went into the first corner. I got hit from behind, then I hit someone on the side and was in seventh or eighth, which was pretty bad and Turrini was in front of me. I had a lot of work to do, dug deep and pushed throughout the whole race and took second, which gave me the overall win on the day.

“I’m very much looking forward to going to FatCat this weekend for the British Championship. It’s the type of track where I feel I excel. A little more physical and a bit sandy, which I like. I’m hoping to get another overall. It’s been a busy period recently but looking forward to riding with the Nora-MX Club on the Saturday, and British on Sunday.”

Walker is in a strong position heading into round 4, however, with three rounds remaining and 225 points on the table, there is no room for complacency as Morgan and Davies are undoubtedly set to take their A game to FatCat.
