After a successful 2023 quad racing season, when he became British 250 Quad Champion, Louie Holt decided to take on new challenges for 2024.Winter planning with family and supporters helped the teenage Holt to make his decision to take the big leap straight from the 250cc class to the Pro/Pro-Am sector for 2024. A bold move, and one that was going to reap rewards ….
Louie started his season finding his racing feet at Iron Works, battling with the more experienced racers. He was still riding his 250cc but, after a quick chat with Quad race build specialists KIK Quads, he decided he needed the power that could only be offered by a 450cc machine.
After a ‘quick’ engine change and determined practice sessions, young Holt was ready to make his mark aboard his KIK-prepped 450cc Honda.
The second round of the British QX Championship saw Louie tackle the new and improved Duns MX track where he improved race by race and finished third in the British National Expert class.
The shortened British Championship series meant that round 3 at Dean Moor was also the penultimate round of the British QX Championship. Louie put in a real shift after a nasty crash the day before and even managed his first top eight overall in the Championship.
At the final of the four-round British QX Championship, hosted by Nora-MX at Little Silver, Exeter, Louie put in a brilliant performance. On the day, he won the Under 21 class, finished third in the National Expert class and was 10th overall in the British Pro class.
Rounding up an uber-successful first year aboard a 450cc onboard a KIK 450, Holt has certainly made a statement in 2024. Finishing third overall in the British National Expert class, second overall in the British Under-21 category and an impressive 10th overall in the British Quadcross Championship.
Said Louie, “It’s been an amazing year, and I’d like to thank all my sponsors for their trust in me and their support. It’s been an amazing year, and I must highlight and thank KIK Quads, ZIP Racing, FXR, Rath Racing, Walsh Racecraft and, of course, Mum and Dad!
