JONNY KELLY TAKES TOP 50 FINISH AT LE TOUQUET

February 8th, 2024.

Jonny Kelly was the top British/Irish quad rider at last weekend’s grueling Le Touquet sand race in northern France.

From Limavady, County Londonderry, Kelly completed an impressive 10 laps of the 13-kilometre Quaduro circuit to take his Walsh Honda across the finish line in 47th place.

“That’s my sixth time competing at Le Touquet and my best result! It’s a great race and I really enjoyed it. I didn’t realise I finished as top British rider, so that’s a bonus.”

Four-hundred riders lined up at the start of the quad race and 282 were classified as finishers. Behind Kelly, Johnny McKnight was 88th, and Giles Davis was just out of the top 100 with a 101 placing. Laurence Stopps, Ben Jay Richmond, Pritchard Lathan and Josh McKnight were all solo riding finishers. The two-up team of Will and Amelia Mead completed five laps to take the final finishing slot in 282.
