Lexham Insurance has published an interesting overview of the safest regions to ride through in the UK.

The specialist quad insurance broker surveyed over 1,000 motorists and found that, while three-quarters (79%) feel safe on the roads, some factors jeopardise this – from road rage to night driving.

The rating of UK cities and towns was based on the following factors:
• Local crime rate
• Light pollution levels
• Congestion
• Number, and proximity, of police stations

According to the results of the survey, the top five safest UK cities are Belfast, Aberdeen, Swansea, York, Glasgow. The top five safest towns are Telford, Ipswich, Warrington, Poole, Swindon.
