MCF LAUNCHES CHARITY TEAM AID

April 22nd, 2020.

The MC Federation (MCF) is calling for the off-road sports industry to get behind its newly-launched MDF Team Aid initiative.

The online event will be held from the 27th of April through to the 3rd of May. It will support the NHS Charities COVID-19 Urgent Appeal and Air Ambulance UK by raising funds through a series of team challenges, and an online auction that has been supported by a host of motorsports stars with a wealth of ‘money-couldn’t-normally-buy’ prizes up for grabs.

The MCF Team Aid will consist of a seven-day challenge whereby riders and club members can create a team of between five and seven people, including a Team Manager, to take part in a small challenge every day of the week. Challenges include a back-wheel change competition, design-a-helmet and a 5k run. Teams will be scored and judged by a panel of judges including the likes of three-time World MX Champion Dave Thorpe, former World number 2 Tommy Searle, and MCF Manager Gareth Chamberlain.

Alongside the challenges, the MCF will be running an online auction from 10am on Monday the 27th of April to 8pm on Monday the 4th of May, with proceeds going to the charities mentioned above.

MCF General Manager, Gareth Chamberlain, said; “I think this is a great opportunity for the motocross community and the off road world to come together, have some fun and help raise funds for two services we rely on more than most. The two charities we have chosen to support are imperative to our industry, and we hope that through the challenges and online auction, we can help make a difference. We’ve got some fantastic prizes on our auction from track days with Tommy Searle to a luxury boat ride for 12 people.”

The MCF has a Virgin Money Giving page for those looking to donate;
