MCLERNON CROWNED BRITISH QX CHAMP

September 23rd, 2021.

Reigning British QX Champ Mark McLernon retained his quad racing crown when he cleaned up at the NORA-MX hosted round at Cusses Gorse last weekend.

McLernon, who is supported by QuadBikesRUs and ATVs Only, reigned supreme in 2019 – the last full year of quad racing – when he won every major quad racing title in the UK and Ireland. He took a back seat in the turbulent 2020 season and came back fighting fit and ready for battle at the start of 2021.

His customary consistency, and smooth approach to racing saw him finish outside the top two only once in the 2021 five-round British Championship. Out of 14 races, he won seven, was runner-up six times and had one fifth place finish.

“It’s been a great season,” said McLernon, “and I’m happy to have taken the British title again. I’m really looking forward to representing Team Ireland at the Quadcross of Nations in October and then, just one week later, I’ll be focused on winning the Nora-MX Pro class. I am grateful to all my sponsors for their support and I’d really like to thank David Wray for looking after my machines and Emma McQuaid for keeping me fit with daily boot-camps.”
