MORGAN & GUY TAKE IOM GLORY

August 12th, 2021.

The Isle of Man Quad enduro returned to Ballaspit Farm on the Isle of Man last Saturday, the 7th of August.

Jamie Morgan

Hosted by the Manx Grass & Sand Racing Club, the three-hour Hare and Hounds style event proved to be a popular attraction for riders from the mainland, with a good contingent of quad QX and quad XC competitors making the trip to tackle the six-mile track that traversed a variety of terrain.

Once the worry of rain passed, the conditions were perfect and racing got underway with Jamie Morgan and Tom Cannell battling for the first couple of laps in the Iron Man class, with Morgan eventually clearing off to scoop the win, and the prize money.

Graham Guy

The 4x4 group saw some familiar names out front. Graham Guy had a good start taking the holeshot and leading the first lap. After a bit of drama for Simon David and Jason Wildman, Guy still managed to finish the opening lap in first place, before dropping to second and tackling a few pit stops. Meanwhile, Wildman crashed and hurt his shoulder, and Guy managed to regain the lead on the last lap to take the win. Previous IOM 4x4 winner Neil Martin was second and Wildman restarted to finish third.

The two-man class was won by Matt Thorpe and Michael Osbourne.

Thirty-two riders started the event, which was sponsored by Fastlane Car Sales and Sinsations.com
