QXON TEAMS SELECTED FOR GB AND IRELAND

August 15th, 2021.

After a year’s hiatus, thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Quadcross of Nations – the world cup of quad racing – will return in October 2021.

The event will take place over the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd of October in France, near Toulon-sur-Arroux in the heart of Burgundy.

Harry Walker, Oli Sansom and Dafydd Davies will represent Team GB, while Mark McLernon, Justin Reid and Dean Dillon will be out in force for Team Ireland. The only team change since the last outing of the QXON in 2019, is the addition of an on-form Davies to the British team.

Five of the selected team members are currently rounding out the top five in the British QX Championship – McLernon leads Davies with Sansom in third, Walker fourth and Dillon fifth. Multi-champ Reid has missed a few British QX rounds this year, but he’s a QXON veteran with race skills and consistency that will be invaluable to Team Ireland.

In 2019 McLernon, Reid and Dillon took Team Ireland to a third successive QXoN podium. Team GB, with the then 2019 Under-21 British QX champ and QX championship runner-up Walker, Sansom and Graham, overcame the difficulty of being a man down to finish in ninth.

Walker’s efforts were enough to award him the best GB/Ireland individual ranking in fourth overall. McLernon was sixth, Dillon an outstanding 11th, Reid 16th and Sansom 30th out of 54 of the world’s best quad racers.

With two strong teams, the QXON trophy could well be ‘coming home’ …..
