SKEGNESS BEACH RACE CANCELLED

August 18th, 2020.

The AMCA’s popular Skegness beach race is the latest casualty of the Covid-19 pandemic, with the 2020 event postponed to November 2021.

The official statement reads:

"It is with deep regret that we have made the decision to cancel the Skegness Beach Race this year. During recent months, whilst the country has been dealing with the impacts of Covid-19, we have been in constant discussions with Magna Vitae and East Lindsey Council to try and work out a way that Skegness 2020 could take place. However, the health and safety of our competitors, officials, medics and the community in general is always our priority, and due to recent surges in Covid-19, with localised lockdowns in place, and the delayed trials of the return of spectators to events, we have been left with no other option than to cancel the event.

We are now working closely with Magna Vitae and East Lindsey Council to ensure that Skegness 2021, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th November 2021, will be the best yet!"
