TOO CLOSE TO CALL AT NORA-MX

August 24th, 2021.

The eighth round of the 2021 Nora-MX Championship witnessed close racing throughout the classes, with Mark McLernon and Dafydd Davies sharing the wins in the ATVs Only Pro class, occupying the top two slots on the day and are separated by just two points in the championship itself.

Dafydd Davies #15 leads the Pro pack

Davies took an early lead in the opening moto and held the advantage to win ahead of Harry Walker. McLernon blasted into third in the final few laps, passing Under-21 rider Dean Dillon. The second race saw McLernon take the win from Sansom, who fought back from a slow start, ahead of Davies, who appeared to be struggling with machine problems. Davies took the holeshot in the last race of the day, but McLernon passed him at around half race distance and never looked back. Jamie Morgan was on great form and took second, with young Dillon and Sansom battling for third. Dillon charged for the final podium position with Sansom just half a second behind. Disaster struck for Davies who was side-lined with mechanical problems, while Walker, who was recovering from a recent bout of Covid, decided to sit out race three.

Alfie Walker won the Pro-Am class and leads the championship

The Pro-Am class was headed by Alfie Walker with a win and two seconds, with Aaron Haslett two points adrift in second and Kyle Murphy in third.

Nora-MX heads to Wroxton in Oxfordshire on the 19th of September for its Club Series and the final round of the British QX Championship. The final round will be held on the 10th of October at West Meon, Hampshire.
