WALKER BROS EXTEND CHAMPIONSHIP LEADS

September 25th, 2020.

Last weekend saw Harry and Alfie Walker contest round 6 of the Nora-MX National and British Championships at Little Silver.

Both lads went into the weekend holding their respect class championship leads but knew there was still work to be done to consolidate both Pro and Clubman/Elite 2020 championships.

The Little Silver natural terrain, tight and technical track was an unknown to most competitors and so the day started as a level playing field for all.

In a well-contested Pro group, Harry pulled a win from a third start in the first moto. He went on to take a fourth and third in the next two races, collecting a second overall on the day and leaving the Devon circuit with a commanding 88-point lead in Nora-MX’s premier Pro group. He has now taken 11 wins from 16 starts.

Alfie, who went into round six leading both Clubman Elite and Clubman British Championships was on a roll. He went on to take three commanding wins, fighting his way through faster starters, and the largest margin of lead on the day of 39 seconds. Alfie sits in a comfortable 45-point lead in his pursuit of the Clubman British Championship title, with 14 wins out of 16 starts.

Said dad Stuart Walker; “The boys head into the last round at a track local to them in confident mood, but are well aware that there are no certainties when it comes to racing and that commitment is still a major requirement. I’m sure they will still be putting in the effort both on the track and behind the scenes to make it happen.”
