Reigning EMX Quad Champ Harry Walker had his work cut out at the penultimate round of the 2025 EMX Quad Championship in Latvia. The Brit went into the fifth round with a slender two-point advantage over Italian Patrick Turrini. Saturday qualifying was not brilliant for Walker as he picked up a puncture, however, he managed to bring it home in sixth – his gate pick for Sunday’s race day.
Turrini stormed into the lead in the opening moto. Walker completed the first lap in fourth. While Turrini led out front, Walker was having to work hard to keep his position. He finally moved into third, with vital championship points in the bag.
Turrini was again fast out of the gate for race two. Walker didn’t have the best of starts, circulating in sixth position. Turrini was followed by Karlis Neija and Reinis Bicans, however, the reigning champ was only a couple of seconds behind.
Turrini rode hard to take two wins, which saw him regain the red plate from Walker. The Brit took a valiant third and fourth to keep his championship hopes alive.
With just 10 points separating Turrini and Walker and 50 points on the table, it’s set to be a hard-fought and nail-biting finale at the final round at Vesoul, France, over the weekend of the 6th and 7th of September.
