WALKER TAKES CONTROL IN HOLLAND AND LEADS EMX QUAD CHAMPIONSHIP

May 12th, 2024.

Harry Walker placed his team and country on the European quad racing map today when he put in an inspired ride on the deep sand track at Heerde in Holland to take a strong win and second place, securing his place at the top of the EMX European Quadcross Championship in the process.

He dominated qualifying, tackling the deep sand track ‘like a local’ and lined up for the first race of the second round of the championship in a strong position. Walker’s start was not brilliant, but he quickly picked his way through the leaders - Karl Robin Rillo, Mike van Grinsven, Joe Maessen, and Patrick Turrini.

Towards the last few laps of the race, Estonian, Rillo was put in a hard-charge and was back on the rear wheels of Walker. Back markers came into play and Walker opened his advantage to 3.5 seconds at the chequered flag to take the victory.

In the second race, Manfred Zienecker grabbed the holeshot and was out front for the opening lap until Louis Pinchon took over. Once Pinchon dropped back, Walker set about hounding Zienecker for the race lead, but the German rider was on a mission and there was no way through for Walker.

As the chequered flag fell, Zienecker took his first race victory of the season with a 13.9-second advantage over the new championship leader Walker, with Maessen rounding out the podium.
