Harry Walker continued his winning ways out at the FIM World Quad Sand Races Championship in Portugal this weekend. He won both motos to take the overall victory at the penultimate round of the FIM-backed series.Held at Monte Gordo in Portugal, Walker on his Drag’On Racing Laeger’s hybrid, was up against the leading protagonists in the World ranking series - Pablo Violet and Fabien Michel. But that didn’t concern the reigning UK and EMX Quad Champ who was out to gain valuable sand racing time, and took a strong win in the process.
Walker started the first race on Saturday, the 29th of November, from a third-row start. He took the lead after three laps and never looked back. He built a commanding lead to cross the finish line over two minutes ahead of Violet.
In the second moto, held this afternoon, Sunday the 30th of November, Walker held a strong lead. The chequered flag was about to come out but, with a few seconds to spare, Walker was just inside the 45-minute mark and had to continue for another nail-biting lap. He finished 1.18s ahead of Violet to take the win.
